Why rats as pets?

"A home without a rat, is just a house."

Rats make amazing pets, they take up less space and their upkeep is not as costly*. They are very clean and can also be litter trained.
Rats are empathetic, lovable animals who can bond to their owners and even come when called! They are incredibly intelligent and can be taught a variety of "tricks".

*compared to other popular household pets.

Where to begin?

You've made the best decision you'll ever make! You've decided to open your heart and home to the possibility of owning a rat as a pet.
There is a lot you need to know before you can start this amazing journey.
But don't worry! I'm here to help and guide you.

First things first, rats need friends! You CANNOT keep them on their own.

Rats are social animals and thrive in SAME SEX groups. Because of this, I only sell my rats in same sex pairs, even if you already own rats.

Do some research and find a local breeder/rescue (we do not advise buying rats from pet shops).

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Once you have decided on a breeder/rescue, you will need to get a cage, toys, accessories, bedding, food, cleaning supplies etc. It is important that you have all these things together at least a month before you welcome your new babies into your home.

We have included some information below on everything you need to know about owning a pet rat. Please feel free to browse the page and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us
